Swiss Branch seeks new Committee members | Royal British Legion Swiss Branch

The Royal British Legion Swiss branch committee is currently looking for people willing and able to help in the following fields.

General Committee Member
We are looking for members of the RBL Swiss Branch who wish to get more actively involved to help with the running of the RBL Swiss Branch especially events and the Poppy Appeal. Are you organised, have attention to details and willing to be proactive to support the branch? Must have very good spoken and written English (knowledge of a Swiss national language is helpful).

Poppy Appeal Regional Coordinator (via British Embassy)
The Regional Poppy Appeal coordinator is based at the British Embassy and acts as the Assistant Defence Attache, they assign a geographical area to volunteers who are called upon to develop a network of donation points, such as pubs, churches, sport institutions, and companies susceptible to employ British or Commonwealth people. They require assistance to distribute poppies, leaflets and other material provided to you and may be required to send mailings. We are especially looking for volunteers in areas such as Valais, Neuchâtel, Jura, Zurich and in Chamonix (Haut-Savoie, France). Although help is needed generally in all regions of Switzerland. For this position, volunteers should allow for enough spare time during the Poppy Appeal period in October and November.

Standard bearer
They take part in official ceremonies (about 5 per year), bear our standard and represent the branch in Switzerland as well as abroad. Equipment and training are provided. You should have your own mean of transport and will be required to undergo a medical check. For this position, people living in the Geneva or Vaud region will be given priority as most events are in these regions.

Bugler
Can you already play the bugle? Could you learn or do you know how to play Reveille and the Last Post on a trumpet? We would require you to take part in official remembrance day ceremonies (about two per year), representing the RBL branch in Switzerland. You should have your own means of transport. For this position, people living in the Geneva or Vaud region will be given priority as most events are in these regions.
