Branch seeks volunteers and new committee members

The Royal British Legion Swiss branch is currently looking for people willing and able to help in the following fields:

Committee Member and / or Administration support
Do you wish to get more actively involved in the running of the RBL Swiss Branch Committee and Events? Are you organised, have attention to details? Can you use Word and Excel and have your own computer? We need assistance preparing and sending mailings, minutes and agenda. Or, called upon to help organise events. Must have very good spoken and written English (knowledge of a Swiss national language is helpful).

Poppy Appeal regional coordinators
As a Regional Poppy Appeal volunteer, you will be assigned a geographical area and be called upon to develop a network of donation points, such as pubs, churches, sport institutions, and companies susceptible to employ British people. You will distribute poppies, leaflets and other material provided to you and may be required to send mailings. We are especially looking for volunteers in areas such as Valais, Neuchâtel, Jura, Zurich and Chamonix (Haut-Savoie, France), although help is needed generally in all regions of Switzerland. For this position, you should allow for enough spare time during the October - November period.

Standard bearer (No.2)
You will take part in official ceremonies (about 5 per year), bear our standard and represent the branch in Switzerland as well as abroad. Equipment and training are provided. You should have your own mean of transport and will be required to undergo a medical check. For this position, people living in the Geneva  / Vaud region will be given priority as most events are in these regions.

Bugler
Can you play the bugle already? Could you learn or do you know how to play Reveille and the Last Post? You will take part in official remembrance day ceremonies (about 2 per year), representing the branch in Switzerland. You should have your own means of transport. For this position, people living in the Geneva  / Vaud region will be given priority as most events are in these regions.

Regional Welfare Volunteer
Our main objective is to provide help and support to our beneficiaries. As a Regional Welfare Volunteer, you may be called upon to visit people hospital bound or homebound, keep regular contacts with beneficiaries, prepare structured claims to request support. You will need to learn about the charity and the support we provide, and you should have a fairly good spoken and written French, as contacts with local authorities may be required. Please note that you will be requested to demonstrate clean criminal records.
